The Book Should Be Young Adult
As a blog that is primarily focused on the YA genre and since we are Young Adults ourselves, we want something written for YA. An adult written book that could pass as YA is not much wanted. We do enjoy some Middle-Grade so our responses may vary for those books.
The Book Should Not Be Full of Explicit Content
As teenagers we are somewhat cautious in what we read even in YA, so we don't want any heavy content. A ton of hardcore sexual matters is not something we will appreciate. We don't like lots of heavy language (such as continual uses of S or F words). We don't want heavy violence/abuse focuses books. Yes, we do know that for some books (ie. Hunger Games) it's a part of the storyline and therefore we will generally accept books like that.
The Book Should Fit Into These Genres:
In the YA genre we enjoy reading:
*Contemporary
*Chick-Lit
*Comedy
*Dystopian/Utopian
*Fantasy
*Fairy-Tale
*Historical Fiction
*Mystery
*Paranormal/Supernatural
*Retellings
*Romance
*Steampunk
~We will accept Christian Fiction w/in the above genres.
~We are not prone to read much Sci-Fi but will consider requests.
~We do not accept short stories, nonfiction or horror. Also note that we're not fans of hard blood-and-gore Vampires/Zombies.
~If you are offering a sequel or companion novel directly related to the first novel we may require a copy of the first novel as well.
Formats We Will Accept
*Any form of physical copy (ie. Paperback, Softcover, Hardback,)
*We will also accept ARC's, Galleys and Finished Copies.
*PDFs and Kindle copies
*Please note that generally, both of us will be reading the book.
Other Things To Note
*All reviews we do 100% on our own, be they raving, critical or somewhere in between.
*We are also open to hosting a blog tour stop, book giveaway, author interview and/or a guest post.
*We are not paid for reviews, but will not pay for shipping or receiving of the book.
